The air in the system will reduce the steam flow, and the resulting air tie will prevent the system from working properly. Surfaces that are not in contact with water due to air will distort faster. Automatic venting valves eliminate these problems and improve cycle performance.

Automatic exhaust valves are never used for decompression. The mounting valve supplied with the unit allows the unit to be removed and installed at system startup. The device must be connected to the highest point of the system. The opening screw of the drain must be in the open position (the screw turns slightly to the left).
