Description
The patented Wika V-PAD® thermocouple thermometer accurately measures the surface temperature of the pipe inside the furnace. The V-PAD® in the product name indicates the shape of the sensor. The sensor is V-shaped and can be welded to the pipe.
In the V-PAD® thermocouple thermometer, the flexible part of the sensor is an armored cable with a mineral insulated cable. It consists of a metal sheath and insulated leads compressed in a high density ceramic material. The inner leads are made of a heat sensitive material. Users can choose the appropriate outer sheath material according to the application needs.
At one end of the armored cable, the internal leads are soldered together to form a non-insulated (grounded) measurement point. At the other end of the armored cable, the inner leads are soldered to the outer extension and the composite is hermetically sealed.
The end of the lead is connected to the junction block. Cables, plug-in connectors or wiring sockets can be connected to the end of the lead.
Sensor Design
The tube surface thermocouple has a non-insulated measuring point (ground).
With this design, thermal measurement points can be placed as close as possible to the pipe surface. By welding V-PAD® to the pipe, the measuring point can be part of the pipe surface for the most accurate measurement.
