Description
WIKA offers vertical and horizontally mounted float level switches, of which the vertical mount type is widely used in a variety of applications, while the horizontally mounted float level switch is available at Unlimited potential in liquid level monitoring and minimum/maximum level switch applications.
The float is mounted on a rotating rod with support and moves up and down as the level of the measured medium changes. The other end of the rotating rod is fixed with a permanent magnet, and when the liquid level reaches a preset switching value, the permanent magnet can attract a magnetic reed contact (filling inert gas) in the contact tube.
Non-contact switching action can be achieved by using magnets and magnetic reed contacts to avoid wear and no power is required. The magnetic float switch has functional features that are insensitive to foaming, electrical conductivity, vapor, bubble formation and vibration.
The signal processing method of the float switch is more common, can be directly connected to the PLC, the connection with the NAMUR circuit, and the signal amplifier or contact relay.
Floating ball level switches are simple to install and require no maintenance, so installation, commissioning and running costs are low.
