Description of a pitot tube
Pitot tube is a flow product that is measured according to the differential pressure principle. The volume flow rate is obtained by Bernoulli's equation based on the pressure difference between the static pressure side and the dynamic pressure side, and the inner diameter of the pipe. The flow rate in the pipe is more accurate by the four measuring holes on the dynamic pressure side, which also ensures the high precision of the product during the measurement process.
Because the medium does not cause any eddy currents when it flows through the pitot tube, it needs to generate a breakpoint upstream. In this way, the downstream measuring point can produce a constant pressure with a constant flow coefficient, even for larger flow measurements. This product meets a wide range of flow measurement applications.
Based on the inside diameter of the pipe, the media characteristics and the Reynolds number, a vortex is generated around the pitot tube. The support installed on the opposite side of the pipe provides a vortex separation frequency that is consistent with the natural frequency of the pitot tube. Whether or not a facade support is required needs to be confirmed at the design stage.
The differential pressure value of the pitot tube output is generally connected to the differential pressure transmitter, the electronic signal generated by the differential pressure value and the differential pressure value have a certain proportional relationship. A differential pressure gauge or differential pressure switch can be used to indicate flow and equipment switching tasks on site.
The pitot tube is suitable for measuring single-phase fluids that are completely filled with pipe cross-sections.
