The NRS gate valve is used to cut off pipe connections and perform zone control, replacing the monitor switch butterfly valve and the OS&Y ascending valve stem in the fire safety system. It is usually buried underground to prevent the risk of freezing. But to make it visible and easy to track in the system, it is usually used with a positioner rather than a handwheel. Thus, the positioner can control the opening and closing of the valve while performing position tracking.
Advantages: the volume is smaller than the pressure reducing control valve, and easy to maintain;
Disadvantages: Volume and economy are not as good as some valves used in fire protection systems.
