In wet sprinkler systems, a pedal-type water alarm switch is typically used to inform the user that a flow of water has been generated 4-10 gpm. Flow switches are used in waterborne and foam fire suppression systems. But it only applies to wet piping systems. Flow information can be displayed on the control panel due to the dry contact function. The flow switch can be installed indoors and outdoors.
Advantage: When water flow occurs, it can signal the control panel and alert.
Disadvantages: It can cause some pressure loss and is only suitable for wet sprinkler systems.
