Specially designed expansion joint


Ayvaz has a considerable amount of special expansion joint production reference list with its extensive experience in the production of expansion joints for power generation piping systems. A common feature of most power generation systems is the conversion of heat into electricity.

The pressure balanced expansion joint is used to compensate and offset the thrust caused by the bellows pressure. The expansion joint of the additional bellows is connected to the member and integral with the overall system, which is subjected to line pressure to create an equal and opposite force to the force on the main bellows. Connecting all of these bellows together can offset the pressure load on the structure.

Pressure-balanced expansion joints are usually installed in the pipe direction (elbow type) change point, but in-line expansion joints can also be used. The use of a pressure balanced expansion joint helps the pipeline designer not need to create a primary anchor to accommodate the combined displacement of the direction transition points.

Structure
The expansion joint is part of the piping system for pressurized equipment. Therefore, its structure is designed and produced in accordance with the European Pressurization Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU) and the American National Standard Pipeline Process ASME B 31.3.
Apply the pipe stress analysis software to inspect all components of the expansion joint, such as pipes, covers, flanges, tie rods, etc., so the material type and thickness can be selected according to the allowable stress values.

NDT Control
Non-destructive testing of welding controls (NDT) is internally tested by TÜV certified third party inspectors. The following controls and standards apply:

MT for EN17638
VT angle welding
RT Applies to EN ISO 10675-1, EN I7636
UT for EN 17640, EN 11666
