Description
REFRACTO-PAD® can accurately measure the surface temperature of the pipe inside the furnace. REFRACTO-PAD® is a patented product developed by Gayesco, Inc. Gayesco products and patents are currently part of the Wika Group.
REFRACTO-PAD® The hot end of the sensor is a curved solder pad with a mineral insulated cable (armored cable). The armored cable consists of a metal sheath and insulated leads compressed in a high density ceramic material. The built-in leads are made of a heat sensitive thermal material. The appropriate outer sheath material can be selected according to the application requirements. At one end of the armored cable, the internal leads are soldered together to form an insulated (ungrounded) or uninsulated (grounded) measuring point.
The patent shield is placed over the solder pads and armored cables. The shroud is a key component of REFRACTO-PAD® providing accurate tube temperature measurement.
At the other end of the armored cable, the end of the lead is connected to the armored cable and sealed with a sealant that forms an electrically connected platform. Cable, socket connectors or connector inserts can be attached to this platform.
Sensor Design
REFRACTO-PAD® is designed into two main components: the curved pad and the patented heat shield are designed to fit all sizes of tubes and sensors. With these engineering components, the REFRACTO-PAD® design provides accurate measurement results.
