Description
The float level switch has a float with a permanent magnet that can reliably move up and down in the guide tube as the liquid level changes. A magnetic reed contact (filled with inert gas) is placed in the guide tube. When the float is approaching, the magnetic force generated by the permanent magnet will pass through the non-magnetic wall of the float and the guide tube, causing the contacts to pick up.
Non-contact switching action can be achieved by using magnets and magnetic reed contacts to avoid wear and eliminate the need for a power supply. The WIKA float switch allows multiple switch point measurements.
The switch state always switches as the liquid level changes: normally open (S) / normally closed (O) / converted (U) contacts.
By using a float ball, the operation of two bistable switch points can be realized, that is, when the liquid level is above or below the switch point position, the liquid level switch can maintain the original switch state.
Floating ball level switches are simple to install and require no maintenance, so installation, commissioning and running costs are low.
